The Institute of Chartered IT Professionals (ICITP), recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) according to the NQF Act of 2008, is a prestigious non-profit (NPO), public benefit organization (PBO), regulatory & professional body for the Information Technology sector. The professional body is the only body that can award the Chartered IT Professional, CITP(SA) and IT Certified Professional, ITCP(SA), professional status in the ICT sector in South Africa and internationally.

ITCP(SA) & Board Exam
Information Technology Certified Professional™ (ITCP)
The ITCP™ is the entry-level qualification of ICITP, designed to create specialized practitioners in Information Technology whom are practically component and have business skills. The ITCP™ qualification is focused on practical competency and business skills.
The ITCP™ syllabus covers core business skills such as information management, entrepreneurship, financial management, etc. Passing the Information Technology Certified Professional™ (ITCP) board exam, makes you eligible for the Chartered Information Technology Professional® (CITP) upon meeting the board exam and practical competency requirements.
ITCP(SA) Board Exam
The ITCP(SA) Board Exam consists of 100 questions and is a duration of 120 minutes.
It is administered on the global computer-based testing platform, Pearson VUE.
Critical Skills Requirements
Critical Skills Work Visa will enable the South African government to achieve the objectives of programmes such as National Development Plan (NDP), Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP) and New Growth Plan (NGP).
The Critical Skills Work Visa emanates from the merger of the former Exceptional Skills and Quota Work visas. The latter was issued in line with the Quota List of 2009, which had skills categories, requirements, and the quota of skills targeted in the Republic of South Africa. The Critical Skills work visa is issued in accordance with the critical skills list. The list was developed in conjunction with the occupations in high demand and the scarce skills lists of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
